背景

我在多处搜集资料后，几乎所有的文章或讨论都指出在“零”之后名词都应该使用复数形式，如：

Your password expires in zero days.

对比：

Your password expires in zero day.

对于所有可数名词，“零”后方永远接着复数形式。在此情况下，只有不可数名词会使用单数形式。

Zero degrees centigrade is the same as 32 degrees fahrenheit.

We are likely to see zero growth on the stock market this year.（growth 不可数）

只有 $1$ 和 $-1$ 的情况下会使用单数形式。

It was -1 degree Celcius yesterday.

在本题中

同上，在小 B 吃了 $0$ 个苹果后，输出语句应为

Today, I ate 0 apples.

而非：

Today, I ate 0 apple.

小补充

除了 zero 外，no 等限定词也须使用复数形式。

No dogs or cats are allowed in the market.

I have no money.（money 不可数）
